The birdcage veil is attached separately to a flat metal millinery hair comb, allowing you to position it exactly where you like in your hairstyle and remove it when desired.
I make each hat from scratch in my studio using traditional millinery techniques. The hat base is constructed from millinery buckram and carefully covered in silk satin with a soft, elegant sheen. The edge is wired for lasting support and hand-finished with petersham ribbon and lining. It is secured with a discreet hat elastic, designed to disappear beneath the hair, and can also be positioned securely with a millinery hair comb.
