Make Me Something Extraordinary - two wedding hats for a mother-of-the-groom

Two silk dresses, two bespoke hats and one unforgettable fitting.

This customer had two beautiful silk satin dresses and wanted a special hat to match each one. She wanted to look extraordinary at the wedding — and she wasn't afraid to make an impression!

Royal Blue, Feathers and a Little Creativity

The first dress was royal blue, but there was one small challenge: she had only a few pieces of fabric left.

With matching blue veiling and feathers, I began experimenting with the shape and arrangement. What seemed like a limitation became an opportunity to create something truly original. The silk was gathered, layered and shaped into a distinctive design that evolved naturally as I worked.

And it suited her beautifully. Her short, naturally curly hair framed the hat so perfectly that the two seemed made for each other.

“Everyone Is Going to Faint When They See This!”

At the first fitting, she brought a friend along for a second opinion.

I asked whether there were enough feathers.

Her answer?

“The whole thing is absolutely enough. Everyone is going to faint when they see this!”

I loved it! I knew she was happy, excited and ready to enjoy every moment of wearing it.

A Second Dress, A Different Story

Her second dress was made from a wonderfully colorful Italian satin with a bold, Sicilian-inspired print.

This time, the fabric was already full of character, so I kept the hat simpler, adding a structured bow to complete the look.

Two dresses, two very different hats — each designed to complement its own fabric and the woman wearing it.

The Mother of the Groom Deserves Her Moment - or two moments?

And she certainly made the most of it! She enjoyed her two looks so much that she changed outfits twice during the evening — just like the bride herself.

Because being the mother of the groom is a special occasion, too. Why shouldn't she have her own moment to shine?

For me, that's the beauty of bespoke millinery. It's not simply about matching a hat to a dress. It's about creating something that makes a woman feel wonderful, confident and completely herself.

And sometimes, the best designs come from a little challenge, a lot of creativity and a customer who knows exactly how she wants to feel.
